HGH pays attention to environmental aspects in all their processes and activities.
Reducing carbon footprint
Since 2022, HGH has been conducting a comprehensive carbon assessment based on the ADEME (French Agency for Ecological Transition) methodology. This tool enables company to identify the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions and implement targeted action plans. The objective is clear: to significantly reduce environmental footprint and commit HGH to a sustainable ecological transition. This approach is also a way of uniting teams around a meaningful collective project.
Energy efficiency
Numerous internal rules aimed at limiting energy consumption have been implemented. This applies to both the management of premises and production processes. For example, a reversible heating system is powered by heat pumps.
Sustainable mobility
HGH encourages employees to adopt more environmentally friendly modes of transportation. To this end, a sustainable mobility bonus has been introduced to support those who choose to cycle, carpool, or use public transportation. These initiatives reflect a commitment to reducing the impact of company’s daily activities.
Waste treatment
A strict and responsible waste management system has been implemented. Household waste and packaging are separated into two streams and collected by SIOM (Waste Collection Agency). All electronic waste is entrusted to the WEEE (ECOSYSTEM) sector, and chemical waste is handled by CHIMIREC. Batteries, neon lights, and metals are also handled by specialized channels.
This network of partners enables company to ensure compliant and environmentally friendly disposal. A rigorous approach guarantees better material recovery and a reduction in environmental impact.
Regulatory compliance
HGH ensure that all activities strictly comply with all applicable regulations, such as REACH and RoHS. These regulatory frameworks are essential to guaranteeing the safety, reliability, and quality of products and solutions. Their rigorous application protects user health, limits hazardous substances, and ensures that products are marketed in accordance with international standards. Going beyond mere legal obligations, HGH makes regulatory compliance an asset in its responsibility to customers and partners.
Thanks to its research and development initiatives, HGH supports its clients in their actions against climate change and the reduction of their carbon footprint.
Development of clean technologies
HGH works with customers to implement environmentally friendly systems and technologies. A concrete example is the LOGI project, which illustrates willingness to provide innovative responses to current ecological challenges. These developments reinforce company’s role as a committed player in the energy and environmental transition, and contribute to building a more sustainable future for customers and partners.
Evergreen product design
HGH products are designed for reliability and long-term use. They are also repairable, with HGH providing repair services for periods exceeding 10 years. HGH offers reusable packaging solutions to minimize waste and ensures safe and efficient transport.

Space and Earth Observation and climate change monitoring
HGH’s vacuum-compatible blackbodies are essential components of the Assembly, Integration, Verification and Testing (AIVT) phase in satellite development. They have been integral to Meteosat Third Generation (MTG), METOP-C and a wide range of Earth observation, meteorology, and environmental monitoring missions like Copernicus program aiming to improve the monitoring of land and coastal surface temperatures in order to, among others, support agricultural management and environmental services.
HGH participates to the TRISHNA mission by providing a high performance vacuum-compatible reference source. Developed by CNES and its Indian counterpart ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), the Trishna mission is designed to acquire imagery of Earth’s surface in the visible and thermal infrared with a resolution and revisit frequency never seen before.
