HGH measurement services are designed to help ensure your blackbody maintains high accuracy and quality of its temperature measurement. Measurement services are provided for all HGH blackbodies. A two year contract (and up to 10 years) of the metrology services offerings provide enhanced peace-of-mind, a better follow-up of your equipment as well as discounted rates.

A radiometric measurement of your blackbody is performed upon reception. We record the measurements made by our metrology bench and send you the report. Thanks to this measurement, one can see the drift of the blackbody compared to the previous calibration.
This service aims to carry out a series of tests to check the following specifications of your blackbody:
These tests enable to compare the measured values with HGH blackbody specifications and determine if an element needs to be replaced.
A testing certificate is provided with all the measured data of your blackbody.
In addition to the functional testing, HGH metrology offers uniformity map of your blackbody. A uniformity mapping of the emissive surface is provided according to a matrix of 144 measurement points (12×12), minimum and maximum values and spatial standard deviation.
The radiometric calibration can be performed in the 3-5 µm (MWIR) and/or 8-14 µm (LWIR) spectral bands. This calibration consists in a comparison of the radiated temperature with a reference blackbody, itself traceable to International Primary Standards. To ensure this traceability, HGH’s reference blackbodies are regularly calibrated by National Metrology Institutes (such as LNE in France) under ISO 17025 standard.
HGH metrology may calibrate your blackbody at other temperatures of interest within the range of use of your equipment. These points will be obtained by extrapolative calculations and the associated uncertainty will be less.
