HGH launches a versatile and portable test bench for the maintenance of military equipment
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 21st 2021 – As a result of their long experience in the maintenance of military electro-optics systems, HGH, world leader in electro-optics test equipment, based near Paris, France, developed a new field test bench for the maintenance and test of military equipment, showcased for the first time at IDEX 2021.
OPAL is a multispectral portable bench dedicated to the test and the maintenance of military electro-optics devices such as night vision goggles, visible to IR cameras and laser rangefinders. It has been designed to be robust and very easy to use in a lab or in the field. OPAL is based on a compact collimator for field application and includes infrared and visible reference sources such as a blackbody and an integrating sphere, as well as specific targets and filters.
The OPAL collimator joins HGH’s field-proven range of military electro-optics maintenance systems: The COPI test bench and the world-renowned NV-2500 and NV-2020 are part of it.
We are proud to present the OPAL collimator, joining our range of Test Benches for military equipment by offering a field, compact and versatile version, with unprecedented ergonomics.” said Arnaud Louboutin, military testing equipment leader at HGH.
Tests can be run manually with human eyes or automatically with computing help thanks to the dedicated testing Software INFRATEST and a rugged computer.
HGH’s OPAL field test bench has been designed to meet current and future needs of the Army for operational maintenance of electro-optics equipment. As part of the FPSA (Semi-Automatic Precision Rifle) project, the French DGA (Directorate General of Armaments) selected OIP Sensors Systems (Belgium) as prime contractor to deliver 2620 rifle systems with ammunitions and equipped with day sights and night vision clip-on sights. HGH was chosen by OIP as exclusive supplier of field collimators for the maintenance of day sights as well as for Light Intensification and thermal sights.
